I’m terrified of losing our friendship, but I can’t breathe when you’re near.

We were watching a movie last night and you fell asleep on my shoulder. I stayed perfectly still for two hours, even though my arm went numb, just so I wouldn't wake you up. Looking at you in the dim light of the TV made me realize that "just friends" isn't enough for me anymore. But I'm too scared to say it because if you don't feel the same, I lose the person who knows me best. So for now, I’ll just keep being the guy who lets his arm go numb.
